Why does most shampoo commercials revolve around girls?

Girls are much more likely to have long hair as compared to guys. Therefore, you advertise to the market who is most likely to benefit from hair care products.

Guys typically have less hair, and, as long as it is clean, they tend to not care what they wash their hair with. It will be cut way before any damage to it can be seen. Why does most shampoo commercials revolve around girls?
I think it's because most shampoo's are for like hair like curly, straight, wavy hair and most boys have short hair. Longer hair needs products to make it a certain way short hair it doesn't really matter because you cant do anything with it.

p.s: guys not caring about hair is not true because men put gel and all that cools stuff in there hair i know plenty of guys that care about hair.. so that's why most gel is about menWhy does most shampoo commercials revolve around girls?
Good answers, but if guys don't care about their hair so much, why do I see all the Hair-Club For Men and Rogaine commercials?
Because when people think of hair, they think about girls and how we have to do ours everyday to keep it looking nice. So they figure, why not target our shampoo to girls.
Most guys dont really care about the shampoo. They dont care if it makes their hair shiny or de-frizz it. I know guys that wash their hair with regular bar soap. Dont get me wrong I know some where out there guys care about their hair but not the majority of them. Shampoo companies are trying to make as much money as possible and the target for great sales is women.
because we are the main consumers, guys don't really care what kind of shampoo they use.
because the average woman will go through a bottle of shampoo and conditioner 10-20 times faster than a man, mainly because women's hair is longer. Thus, women are the largest and most frequent buyers of shampoo, so the advertising will be geared toward them.
Because guys don't care about their hair as long as it is clean. They don't need body or curl or non-frizzy stuff.
because females spend the most on hair products
Because they think guys don't worry about their looks.
Guys don't care about their hair too too much, compared to girls. So that's why most of the hair products are made for girls. Unless the guys turn ultra metrosexual...
because it is supposed to advertise beautiful hair and girls care more about their looks than most guys
